Itinerary

Day 01

ARRIVAL NJP RAILWAY STATION / (IXB) BAGDOGRA AIRPORT - DARJEELING On arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our driver who will take you Transfer to Darjeeling (100 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs) Check in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02

DARJEELING Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center & panoramic view of Tea Estate. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03

DARJEELING – PELLING After breakfast, Transfer to Pelling (7380 Ft / 2250 Mts, 125 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs).Check in and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04

PELLING After breakfast we drive to Yuksom (5840 Ft / 1780 Mts, 35 Kms / 02 Hrs) on way panoramic sightseeing of Darap Village, Rimbi Water fall & Hydro Project, Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts), it is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird & Kanchanjunga Water fall. A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks) - the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Evening Back to Pelling and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05

PELLING – GANGTOK VIA NAMCHI After breakfast, transfer to Gangtok via Namchi, covering Char Dham and Sandruptse statue (6100 Ft / 1860 Mts, 116 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs). Overnight at Hotel. NAMCHI Namchi, meaning ‘Sky High’, nestled among the hills at an elevation of 4400 ft, commands a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains and vast stretches of valley. It is about 78 kms from Gangtok and 100 kms Siliguri. With important tourism projects down the line, Namchi is fast picking up us an important destination. SIDDHESHVARA DHAM, SOLOPHOK Located about 5 kms from Namchi on top of the Solophok Hill Siddheshvara Dham is a unique pilgrim Centre. The entire complex is divided into four main elements (1) A 108’ tall statue of lord Shiva with 12 jyotirlingas (2) Replicas of four Dham, Badrinath, jaganath and Dwarka dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Rameshwar to Lord Shiva (3) Sai Baba Temple and (4) Krateswar Statue Beside Nandi Bull, Sai Dwar, Sai Temple, Kirat Dwar Shiv Dwar all offer one platform for Guru Padmasambhava in the world. SAMDRUPTSE 72 kms from Gangtok near Namchi in South Sikkim is Samdruptse which means “The Wish Fulfilling Hill”. A 135 ft. state of Guru Padmasambhava is installed at the top of Samdruptse. His Holiness the Dalai Lama Laid Foundation stone of the statue on 22.10.1997. It is said to be the statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the world.

Day 06

GANGTOK After breakfast, start for a full day sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery, Jhakri Water Fall, Droul Chorthen, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom, Flower Show. Ropeway cable car ride ( Ticket included )..Overnight at Hotel.

Day 07

GANGTOK After breakfast, in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake + Nathula - situated at a height of 12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Back to Gangtok and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08

GANGTOK – pheuntsholing After breakfast, Transfer to Phuentsholing (274 Kms / 05 to 07 Hrs) for onwards connection.Proceed to Pheuntsholing. Arrive at Pheuntsholing and transfer to the hotel. Process for route permit and you have the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Pheuntsholing Meals: Dinner

Day 09

Phuentsholing - Thimphu (Approximate 179 kms; 5 -6 hrs drive) This morning transfer to the capital city of Thimphu through the mountains, this journey is of almost unbelievable beauty. The road leads from the northern Indian tea plantations through endless turns, hair pin bends and daring stretches carved into the mountain rock via Chukka to Thimphu. Check in the hotel. Afternoon you can relax and in the evening spend some time i n clock tower square. Overnight at Thimphu Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 10

Thimphu – Local sightseeing & proceed to Punaka. Today’s sightseeing includes the Folk Heritage Museum, National Library, Handicraft Center to view the traditional arts, the indigenous Medicine Hospital, the Painting School and from the road point take a glimpse of Tashichho Dzong. Further drive uphill and visit Takin Zoo where you will find national animal of Bhutan. Visit National Memorial Chorten a stupa dedicated to the third king of Bhutan and Buddha statue if time permit..In Afternoon proceed to Punaka via Dochula Pass. Punakha via Dochula pass (1 Night) (Approximate 77 kms ; 3 hours drive).Drive to low lands of Punakha valley touching Dochula pass 10,000 ft and on the stop at Hongtsho village. Stop at the immigration check point to stamp in your permit. You will be driving through the first mountain pass in the western part of Bhutan. If the weather is clear you will be able to see the highest peaks towards the north, Gangar Punsum among others is the highest unclimbed peak (24,000 ft) in the world. Proceed down to Thinleygang village and upon reaching Lobesa turn left and enter Punakha valley. Check in the hotel. Visit majestic Punakha Dzong placed strategically at the junction of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers, the dzong was built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to serve as the religious and administrative seat of the region. It was here that the dual system of government was introduced in the 17th century and in 1907, enthroned the first King Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuk. .Overnight at Punakha Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 11

Punakha –Paro (2Nights) (Approx 140 kms, 5 hrs) Morning drive to Paro via same road and stop at Lamperi. Visit the Royal Botanical Park for 30 minutes. If you are lucky you could see red pandas, different species of birds, you can take some photo shot close to the natural lake. You could watch a short documentary about the park. Proceed to Paro via Semtokha and check in the hotel. Afternoon visit ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and drive till the base of Tigers Nest. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Paro Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 12

Paro – City sightseeing Morning visit Paro Dzong, the National Museum housed in a round fortress called as the Ta Dzong considered to be one of the best natural history museums in Asia where it has a fine collection of natural and historic artifacts, Paro Penlop Heritage Farm house Kyichu Lhakhang the monastery dates back to 7th century and is one of the oldest and most sacred. Afternoon at leisure and evening visit the town for shoppin. Overnight at Paro Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 13

Paro – fly back to India Morning transfer to airport to take a fight to Kolkata. PBH to CCU on 7th August 10:15 (leave Paro Airport) 10:55 land at Calcutta..flight Bhutan
